Cammino Minerario di Santa Barbara

The Minerary Way of Santa Barbara is developed in Sulcis-Iglesiente, in the south-west of Sardinia, and is a hiking and cultural itinerary that crosses some of the most important mineral and natural landscapes of the island. The route was created to connect ancient extractive sites, historical villages, coasts and mountain areas, following the traces of the mining history of the territory.
The route winds through abandoned mines, tunnels, laveries, mining villages, forests and coastal sections, offering a complete reading of the anthropized and natural landscape of Sulcis-Iglesiente. Each stage is characterized by historical and environmental elements that tell the economic and social evolution of the region.
