Carbosulcis S.P.A.

The Carbosulcis S.P.A., based at the Monte Sinni mine in Nuraxi Figus in Sulcis-Iglesiente, is one of the most important poles in the recent history of coal mining in Italy. The site is located in an area deeply marked by mining activity, where industrial infrastructure and hilly landscape still live clearly.
The Monte Sinni mine was the last major coal mining company in Italy, maintaining its activity until 2019, the year of the final cessation of operations. Prior to this date, the complex played a strategic role for national energy supply, becoming a central point for the industrial economy of the territory.
