Cascata di Gutturu Melfi

The Gutturu Melfi Waterfall is located in the territory of Domusnovas, in Sulcis-Iglesiente, within a mountain and valley environment of great naturalistic value. The site is inserted in a context characterized by limestone reliefs, rocky gorges and dense Mediterranean vegetation.
The waterfall is formed along a water course that crosses the Gutturu Melfi system, creating natural jumps, rocky walls and small pools shaped by the erosive action of water over time. The phenomenon is typical of the recessed river environments, where the altitude difference of the soil generates particularly scenic waterfall points.
The surrounding landscape is dominated by Mediterranean vegetation, holm oaks and rock formations, which help create a rich and well preserved ecosystem. The environment maintains a wild character, with strong integration between geological and vegetative elements.
