Chiesetta S. Luigi Orione

The church of San Luigi Orione, also known as the former working church of Lotto B – Blessed Virgin of the Addolorata, is located in the territory of Carbonia (SU), in Sulcis-Iglesiente, and is a small religious building linked to the social and mining history of the city. The structure is an important sign of community life developed in the working quarters of the twentieth century.
The church was born as a place of worship for workers and families living in the neighborhoods linked to the industrial development of Carbonia, taking over time also the dedication to San Luigi Orione. The building retains a symbolic value linked to popular spirituality and the history of work.
