Diga Monteponi

The Monteponi Dam is located in the territory of Iglesias (SU), in Sulcis-Iglesiente, and is a hydraulic infrastructure historically linked to the mining complex of Monteponi. The structure was built for water management in the mining area, playing a key role in the production processes and site safety.
The building is inserted in a context strongly characterized by the presence of historical mining areas, abandoned plants and hill reliefs, typical of the iglesiente landscape. The work is an example of hydraulic engineering applied to the extractive sector.
