Dune di San Nicolò

The Dunes of San Nicolò are located along the coast of Sulcis-Iglesiente, in the territory of Buggerru, and are one of the most interesting dunal systems of the south-western Sardinian coast. The area is located near the Dune Road of San Nicolò, in a naturalistic context of great environmental value.
The landscape is characterized by a system of sandy dunes shaped by the wind, alternating with vegetation typical of the Mediterranean coast. This balance between sand and vegetation plays a fundamental role in the stabilization of the coastal ecosystem and in the natural protection of the coast.
The environment preserves a wild and little anthropized look, with scenarios that highlight the natural dynamic between sea, wind and sand. The presence of plant species adapted to the coastal conditions contributes to the resilience of the dunal system.
