Ex Semaforo di Capo Sperone

The Ex Semaforo di Capo Sperone is located at the southern end of the island of Sant’Antioco, in Sulcis-Iglesiente, in a dominant position on one of the most exposed and scenic stretches of south-west Sardinia. It is a former military structure of coastal sighting, now inserted in a landscape context of great naturalistic value.
The building stands on a rocky promontory characterized by peak cliffs, open sea and Mediterranean scrub, elements that define a strongly wild and isolated environment. The strategic position allowed visual control of the surrounding sea tract, exploiting the high conformation of the head.
The context is dominated by vegetation typical of the Mediterranean coast, adapted to conditions of wind, salsedine and poor soils. The area preserves a strong balance between natural elements and historical traces of the military use of the territory.
