Foce del Riu Mannu

La Foce del Riu Mannu is a naturalistic area of great landscape interest located along the coast of Sulcis-Iglesiente, near the SP83, 09010 Buggerru. The site represents the point where the Riu Mannu course meets with the sea, giving rise to a transition environment between river and coastal ecosystem.
The area is characterized by a suggestive natural environment, where the dynamic of fresh water that flows into the sea has contributed over the centuries to the formation of small humid environments and to the modeling of the surrounding landscape. The vegetation is typical of the Mediterranean vegetation, with species adapted to environmental conditions varying between salinity and humidity.
The mouth is inserted in a territory marked by the presence of ancient mining activities and a wild and rocky coast, an element that increases its landscape value. It is a place often appreciated for its tranquility and for panoramic views of the sea and surrounding cliffs.
