Foresta demaniale di Gutturu Pala

The State Forest of Gutturu Pala – Pubusinu is located in the territory of Fluminimaggiore, along the S.S.126, in San Benedetto, in the heart of Sulcis-Iglesiente. It is a large state forest area characterized by a natural environment of great landscape and environmental value.
The forest develops in a mountain and hilly context, dominated by oaks, cork and Mediterranean scrub, which form a forest ecosystem typical of south-western Sardinia. The morphology of the territory alternates dense woodlands with more open and panoramic areas.
The area is an important habitat for local fauna and contributes to the conservation of the biodiversity of Sulcis. The presence of nature trails and paths makes it suitable for hiking, trekking and environmental tourism, offering a direct contact with a landscape still intact and little anthropized.
