Galleria Santa Barbara

The Santa Barbara Gallery is located in the territory of Narcao (09010, SU), in Sulcis-Iglesiente, and is an underground structure linked to the mining and geological system of the area. Located in a hilly context, the gallery is a testament to the excavation activities and infrastructures connected to the mining world of the south-west of Sardinia.
The structure develops within a natural environment characterized by limestone rocks, Mediterranean scrub and hill reliefs, typical of the Narcao territory. Its function is historically linked to the hypogean paths and the workings of the subsoil, common elements in the mining landscape of Sulcis-Iglesiente.
