Globoidi

Globoids are rare and fascinating volcanic spheroid formations present on the island of San Pietro, in the territory of Carloforte.
These structures, also known as “blister”, were formed about 15–16 million years ago as a result of particular processes of cooling of the magma, giving rise to roundish and almost perfect shapes, unique in their kind. The result is a spectacular and rare geological landscape, of great scientific and naturalistic interest.
