Grotta dei Calcari Nodulari

The Grotto dei Calcari Nodulari, located in the territory of Santadi in Sulcis-Iglesiente, is inserted in a hilly context characterized by limestone, Mediterranean scrub and natural environments little anthropized. The area preserves a high landscape continuity, typical of south-western Sardinian hinterland.
The cavity stands out above all for the particular noducular limestone formations, which characterize the inner walls and define its identity. It is a natural environment shaped by the action of water over time, which gave rise to irregular surfaces and evident stratifications. It is not a structured tourist cave, but a site of mainly geological interest, appreciated for its lithological peculiarity and for the natural context in which it is inserted.
