Grotta dell’Acqua Gelata

The Gelata Water Cave (Grutta de S’Abba Gelada), located in the territory of Buggerru, is a natural site of Sulcis-Iglesiente known for its particular environmental conditions and for the connection with the mining context of the area. Set in an area rich in history and nature, the cave is located along a slope characterized by rocks and Mediterranean vegetation.
The name recalls one of its most obvious features: the presence of cold water that contributes to creating a fresh and constant internal microclimate.
