Grotta di Su Mannau

The Cave of Su Mannau, located in the territory of Fluminimaggiore (Sulcis-Iglesiente), is one of the most fascinating underground complexes of Sardinia, capable of combining naturalistic value and archaeological evidence in a single route. Built in a rich and suggestive environment, the cave develops in environments shaped by water over the millennia.
The tourist route, about 500 meters long and lasting about an hour, starts from the archaeological hall, part of the fossil branch of the cave, already used in the nuragic era as a place of worship. Through suspended walkways you gradually descend for about 60 meters, crossing increasingly articulated environments. Continue towards the speleological room, characterized by numerous limestone concretions, until you reach the Central Hall, one of the richest and most scenic spaces of the route. The route continues between distinctive natural elements such as the Stenasellus pond and the picturesque waterfall of the Puddu gallery, to end with the majestic Pozzo Rodríguez, one of the most imposing environments of the whole complex.
