Grotta San Giovanni

The Cave of San Giovanni, located in Domusnovas in Sulcis-Iglesiente, is one of the most peculiar karst complexes of Sardinia and internationally. Inserted in a natural context of great value, the cave opens as a real passage between different environments, connecting two sides of the territory.
Its most distinctive feature is to be one of the few caves in the world by car, with a development that makes it the longest in Europe with this peculiarity. The interior is shaped by the millenary action of the water and has large natural cavities and suggestive rock walls. The site is part of a 60-hectare compendium, which also includes access to one of Europe’s most extensive oak forests. In addition to the autonomous visit, guided tours, multimedia experiences and excursions are available that enhance the entire natural and archaeological system of the area.
