La testa dell’elefante

The Head of the Elephant is located along the path of access to the tomb of giants of Barrancu Mannu, in the territory of Santadi (09010, SU), in Sulcis-Iglesiente, and is a particular natural rock formation that recalls, by shape and profile, the shape of an elephant head.
The site is included in an archaeological context of great importance, linked to the presence of the tomb of giants of Barrancu Mannu, one of the prehistoric funeral monuments typical of the nuragic civilization. The route develops in an intact natural environment, characterized by rolling rocks, Mediterranean scrub and hill reliefs.
