Lago artificiale di Flumentepido

The artificial lake of Flumentepido is located in the territory of Sulcis-Iglesiente (SU), in south-western Sardinia, and is a water basin created for the management and accumulation of water resources of the territory. The invader plays an important role for the local water balance and for the support of the agricultural and environmental activities of the area.
The lake is located in a landscape characterized by hills, Mediterranean vegetation and rural environments, typical of the hinterland of Sulcis. The presence of water contributes to creating an evocative landscape and to foster the presence of biodiversity linked to humid ecosystems.
