Laveria Macchione (rudere)

Laveria Macchione (rudere) is a suggestive example of abandoned industrial archaeology located on the island of San Pietro, a short distance from Carloforte.
Built around 1940 by AMI, the structure was a plant for the treatment of minerals extracted in local mines, with a gravimetric processing system. Today the site looks like a fascinating ruin, where the remains of the old power plant still remain visible.
The place preserves a strong visual impact, combining mining history, industrial archaeology and coastal landscape in a wild and silent context.
