Medau Cisella

The Medau Cisella is located in the territory of Sulcis-Iglesiente (SU), in south-western Sardinia, and is a traditional rural settlement typical of the mining and agricultural area of Sulcis. The term medau in fact identifies an ancient nucleus linked to peasant and pastoral life, often composed of scattered houses and structures functional to the management of the territory.
The site is a testament to the historical Sardinian rural culture, closely linked to agricultural activities, breeding and, in some areas of Sulcis, also to the presence of contexts related to mining history. These settlements were fundamental for the daily life of local communities, organized simply and strongly linked to the earth.
