Miniera di Arenas

The Arenas Mine is located in the territory of Fluminimaggiore, along the SS126, in the heart of the Sulcis-Iglesiente, in a mountain setting dominated by limestone reliefs, forests and Mediterranean scrub. The area is part of the vast historical mining system that has affected the Marganai mountains and the surrounding areas.
The site preserves the remains of the ancient mining activity, with ruins of mining buildings, industrial structures and traces of galleries. These elements, today in a state of neglect, emerge among the spontaneous vegetation that has gradually regained the spaces once productive.
