Monte Sirai

Monte Sirai is located in the territory of Carbonia, Sulcis-Iglesiente, and is one of the most important archaeological sites of Sardinia linked to the Phoenician and Punic civilizations. The hill dominates the surrounding landscape thanks to its elevated position, offering a strategic view on the plains and ancient ways of connecting Sulcis.
The archaeological area preserves the remains of the ancient settlement, with fortifications, dwellings, necropolises and religious structures, which testify to the importance of the site as a inhabited and commercial center in the ancient Mediterranean. The presence of defensive walls and housing districts allows you to read the urban organization of the ancient city.
