Nuraghe Bricco Scarperino

The Nuraghe Bricco Scarperino is an archaeological site of Sulcis Iglesiente inserted in a natural context that highlights the widespread diffusion of the nuragic civilization in the territory of south-western Sardinia. Nuraghe Bricco Scarperino represents a megalithic structure linked to the Bronze Age, built with large stone blocks and destined to functions of presidio, control and community organization.
The nuraghe is distinguished by its location in a slightly elevated area, a typical element of nuragic buildings, which allowed a strategic view of the surrounding area. Although today it is not completely intact, it preserves an important historical and archaeological value, contributing to the reconstruction of the ancient settlement network of Sulcis. The Nuraghe Bricco Scarperino is part of an authentic landscape, where archaeology and natural environment tell together the oldest history of the island.
