Nuraghe Candelargiu

The Nuraghe Candelargiu is an archaeological site of Sulcis Iglesiente immersed in a rural context typical of south-western Sardinia, where the landscape still retains a strong historical imprint linked to the nuragic civilization. Nuraghe Candelargiu represents one of the testimonies of the ancient nuragic settlement network, developed for the control of the territory and the management of local resources during the Bronze Age.
The monument, although not always intact in all its structural parts, maintains an important archaeological and documentary value, useful to the understanding of the organization of the nuragic communities in the Iglesiente. Placed in a still little urbanized natural environment, the site contributes to defining the cultural landscape of Sulcis, where numerous traces of the oldest human presence of Sardinia emerge.
