Nuraghe Cortoghiana

The Nuraghe Cortoghiana is located in the territory of Carbonia (09013, CI), in Sulcis-Iglesiente, and is an important testimony of Sardinian nuragic architecture. It is a megalithic structure dating back to the Bronze Age, built with large blocks of stone and linked to the ancient nuragic civilizations of the island.
The site represents an example of the spread of nuraghi in the territory of Sulcis, with functions presumably linked to the control of the territory, the settlement and the defense. The structure is part of the widest nuragic presence system that characterize prehistoric Sardinia.
