Nuraghe de Chirigu

The Nuraghe de Chirigu, located in the territory of Sant’Antioco nel Sulcis, is part of an internal landscape of the island characterized by open natural environments and stretches of Mediterranean vegetation. The area maintains a strong link with the rural dimension and the historical stratification typical of the island.
The structure, made of local stone, is present today in conditions of strong degradation, with discontinuous remains that make a complete reading of the original plant difficult, but confirming the presence of a nuragic context. The site seems to correspond to a small settlement unit, probably linked to functions of control of the territory or to frequented more than to a large architectural complex. Its location is part of the fragmented but capillary system of the island’s nuragic settlements.
