Nuraghe De Crabu

The Nuraghe De Crabu (or Cuccu de Crabi) is an archaeological site of the Sulcis Iglesiente located in a rural landscape, where the presence of nuragic testimonies contributes to defining the strong historical identity of the territory. Nuraghe De Crabu represents one of the structures linked to the nuragic civilization, widespread capillaryly in the Iglesiente and characterized by stone buildings with strategic and settlement function.
The site, now preserved in a partial form, bears witness to the ancient use of the territory for the control and management of local resources, typical of the Bronze Age communities in Sardinia. The dual name with which it is known highlights the oral tradition and cultural stratification of the place, where popular memory and archaeology intertwine. Placed in a still natural landscape, the nuraghe contributes to the reading of the prehistoric settlement system of Sulcis.
