Nuraghe Gennerei

The Nuraghe Gennerei, also known as Acqua sa Canna or Perdaias Mannas, is located in the territory of Gonnosfanadiga and represents one of the numerous examples of nuragic architecture present in the south-west of Sardinia. Made of local stone and granite blocks, today the site is in a state of ruins, but still retains legible elements of its original structure.
The remains of the main tower are visible and some traces of secondary environments, which allow to guess the complexity of the settlement. The position of the nuraghe, in an area rich in rocky outcrops and water resources, suggests a strategic function linked both to the control of the territory and to the exploitation of natural resources, as indicated also by the name "Acqua sa Canna".
