Nuraghe Magai

The Nuraghe Magai, in the territory of Villaperuccio (Sulcis), is located in an agricultural area where the landscape is built by open fields, rows of spontaneous vegetation and slight natural differences. It is a simple and silent context, in which the ancient traces are inserted without evidently emerging.
The monument, made of local stone, today does not appear as a legible structure in its entirety: the remains are reduced and distributed irregularly, leaving only clues of the original presence. More than a recognizable building, the site is perceived as an archaeological trace spread in the ground, linked to an ancient frequentation of the territory. Its location in an open area suggests a function more linked to the presence and light control of the area than to a monumental role.
