Nuraghe Montarveddu

The Nuraghe Montarveddu, located on the island of Sant’Antioco in Sulcis, is located in a landscaped context strongly characterized by the presence of the sea and by small internal reliefs. The site is part of an environment where the natural and historical components live in a particularly evident way, with wide views and Mediterranean vegetation.
The structure, made of local stone, today is in a state of ruins and preserves only parts of the original plant, but sufficient to identify the nuragic type. The location of the site, on a slightly elevated area of the island, suggests a use linked to the observation of the territory and the control of the access routes, also in relation to the proximity to the coast. The insulating context gives the nuraghe a particularly suggestive landscape value.
