Nuraghe Monte Dolorosu

The Nuraghe Monte Dolorosu, in the territory of Portoscuso (Sulcis), is located in an internal area characterized by isolated reliefs and Mediterranean vegetation, in a context that still retains a strong sense of naturality and detachment from the inhabited centers.
The site, made of local stone, today is in rough conditions and appears very fragmentary, with scattered remains that make reading of the overall structure more complex but nevertheless traceable to a nuragic settlement. The location on an elevated and isolated area suggests a function linked to the surveillance of the surrounding area, in a favorable visual point between the hinterland and transit areas. The present context returns a little anthropized site, where the relationship between rock and Mediterranean scrub dominates the scene.
