Nuraghe Montexi 1

The Nuraghe Montexi 1, in the territory of Villamassargia, is located in a portion of the Iglesiente where the landscape is never completely regular: soft hills, affiorant stone and stretches of low vegetation alternate seamlessly, creating an environment that maintains a rather wild look.
The monument, built in local stone, today does not preserve an architectural form readable in a clear way: what emerges is a reduced archaeological presence, almost “composed” in the ground, but sufficient to recognize the belonging to the nuragic civilization. More than a defined building, you have the impression of an ancient point of attendance, probably inserted in a network of minor presences distributed among the surrounding reliefs. The relationship with the landscape is direct, without net separations between structure and environment.
