Nuraghe Nuraxi Figus

The Nuraghe Nuraxi Figus is an important archaeological site of the Iglesiente area, located in the territory of Gonnesa, immersed in a landscape rich in mineral and prehistoric testimonies. It is a complex nuraghe built in local volcanic rock, now partially incorporated by vegetation and collapses, but still legible in its original structure.
The building has traces of the ancient towers that constituted the defensive and residential system, typical of the nuragic architecture. At the base of the relief there is also an interesting hypogeum interpreted as a possible refuge, an element that enriches the historical value of the context. The site is located in a strategic area, not far from ancient mining routes and other nuragic monuments, such as the nearby sacred well of Is Arenas, testifying to the archaeological density of the territory.
