Nuraghe Pitzienti

The Nuraghe Pitzienti, located in the territory of Perdaxius in Sulcis, is inserted in a rural and hilly context typical of the south-western hinterland of Sardinia, about 3 km from the town. The surrounding area still preserves a balance between agricultural landscape and spontaneous nature, with widespread traces of the nuragic presence.
The structure, made of local stone, today is in a state of ruins and preserves only portions of the original plant. Despite the fragmentation, the remains allow to recognize a small nuragic settlement, probably with a function of garrison and control of the territory. The slightly elevated position in relation to the surrounding plane strengthens the hypothesis of strategic use, in continuity with other Sulcis sites.
