Nuraghe Punta Pitzuga

The Nuraghe Punta Pitzuga, located in the territory of Iglesias, in the Iglesiente, is a nuragic site inserted in a landscape of great naturalistic value, between reliefs and still little urbanized areas. The structure is made of local stone, today in a state of ruins, but still retains useful elements to the reading of the original plant.
The visible remains suggest the presence of a nuragic nucleus with masonry traceable back to an articulated structure, typical of the settlements that carried out both residential and strategic functions. The position on a high area allows a wide visual control of the surrounding area, a recurring element in the nuraghi of the Iglesiente, often placed in dominant points for the control of the internal routes and natural resources.
