Nuraghe Sa Turrita

The Nuraghe Sa Turrita is a historical and archaeological point located in the territory of Gonnesa, along the SP82, in an area that preserves numerous testimonies of the nuragic civilization. Nuraghe Sa Turrita dates back to the 2nd millennium BC and represents one of the megalithic structures that characterize the landscape of Sulcis Iglesiente.
The site is part of a territorial context of great interest, where the nuraghi carried out functions of control, defence and organization of community life. Its presence helps to outline the prehistoric settlement network of the area, offering an important key to reading to understand the development of nuragic communities. Today the Nuraghe Sa Turrita maintains a significant historical and cultural value, representing a direct testimony of the oldest origins of the territory.
