Nuraghe Sirai

The Nuraghe Sirai is an important archaeological site of Sulcis, located in the territory of Carbonia, at the foot of Mount Sirai, in a dominant position on the surrounding plain. Nuraghe Sirai represents a nuragic complex of polylobed type, significant testimony of the nuragic civilization and its settlement organization in the south-west of Sardinia.
The site stands out for its articulated structure, which highlights a function not only defensive but also housing and strategic, inserted in a territorial context of great historical importance. The location, a short distance from the present urban center of Carbonia, makes it a key point for understanding the continuity of the settlement in the Sulcis area.
