Nuraghe Su Fundu e Pancia

The Nuraghe Su Fundu and Pancia, located in the territory of south-western Sardinia, is a nuragic site immersed in a natural context still intact and little anthropized. The structure, made of local stone, is present today in a state of ruins, but retains sufficient elements to recognize its original plant.
The nuragic complex shows traces of masonry that suggest an articulated organization of the spaces, typical of the nuraghi with both residential and defensive function. The location, inserted in a slightly isolated but strategic area, suggests a possible role of control of the surrounding territory and resources. The site is part of the largest nuragic archaeological heritage in the area, characterized by a strong density of ancient settlements.
