Parco Archeologico Cannas di Sotto

The Archaeological Park Cannas di Sotto is located in the territory of Sulcis-Iglesiente, in the municipality of Carbonia, and is an area of great historical and archaeological interest linked to the prehistoric and protohistoric phases of south-western Sardinia. The site is located in an urban and periurban context, close to plain areas typical of the Mining Campidano.
The area preserves important evidence of ancient settlements, with archaeological structures and traces referring to residential and funerary contexts, which testify to the human presence in the territory already in very remote eras. The finds and stratifications found contribute to the reconstruction of the oldest history of Sulcis.
