Piazza Eleonora d’Arborea

The Eleonora d’Arborea Square in Giba is the main urban space in the country and represents the true heart of social and community life in the centre of Sulcis. Titled to Judge Eleonora d’Arborea, a symbolic figure of Sardinian history and the “Carta de Logu”, the square also assumes a strong identity and cultural value.
It is the main point of aggregation of the municipality and the privileged scenario for public events, traditional events and sporting and cultural initiatives that involve the whole community.
Among the most important events that animate the square are the Sagra del Pane, with tastings and dances in the square in August, and the Sagra della Vitella, a gastronomic event accompanied by music and local products. The square is also the central point of the sporting event “Giba di Corsa”, which uses it as a meeting area and departure.
