Piazza Roma

The Piazza Roma di Carbonia is the main urban square in the city, conceived as a symbolic and administrative centre in the 1938 foundation project. Born together with the new rationalist city, linked to the mining development of Sulcis, it still represents the heart of the original urban system.
The square is surrounded by public and institutional buildings, which strengthen its civic and administrative function, maintaining a strong coherence with the original urban plan. Over time it has also become a social and cultural aggregation point, while retaining its central role in the structure of the city.
