Pineta di Plagemesu

The Pineta di Plagemesu is located along the coast of Sulcis-Iglesiente, in the territory of Gonnesa, near the coast of Plagemesu. It is a natural coastal area characterized by a thick pine forest that develops between the sandy dunes and the sea, in a landscape context of great environmental value.
The vegetation consists mainly of sea pines and Mediterranean scrub, which play an important function of stabilization of the dunes and protection of the coastal system. This natural balance contributes to the conservation of the coastal ecosystem and to the protection of the landscape.
The site is characterized by a typical coastal environment, alternating sandy areas, shaded areas and stretches of spontaneous vegetation, creating a varied and harmonious landscape. The proximity to the sea makes the area particularly exposed to natural agents such as wind and salsedine.
