Piscine Naturali di Nasca

The Natural Pools of Nasca are located in the locality of Nasca, in the territory of Carloforte, on the island of San Pietro, in Sulcis-Iglesiente. It is a coastal stretch characterized by natural basins dug into the rock by the action of the sea and the wind, which create small basins of clear water in direct contact with the marine environment.
The landscape is dominated by rocks shaped by erosion, cliffs and open sea, elements that over time gave rise to natural cavities filled by marine water. These conformations represent a typical example of coastal geomorphology, where natural processes continually shape the coastline.
The area is inserted in a context of great landscape value, characterized by Mediterranean vegetation, warm rocks and intense colors of the sea, which contribute to making the site particularly scenic. The transparency of water and the conformation of the rocks accentuate the effect of natural pools.
