Pozzo Castoldi

The Pozzo Castoldi of Bacu Abis is located in the territory of Carbonia (SU), in Sulcis-Iglesiente, and is an important testimony of industrial archaeology linked to the mining activity of south-western Sardinia. The structure was part of the extractive complex of Bacu Abis, one of the main mineral poles of the territory.
The well is a fundamental infrastructure of the extraction system, used for access to underground tunnels and for transporting materials and personnel. It is a symbolic element of the history of mining and industrial development of Sulcis.
