Scogliera del Bue Marino

The Scogliera del Bue Marino is located along the coast of the island of San Pietro, in the territory of Carloforte, in Sulcis-Iglesiente. It is a coastal stretch of great naturalistic value, characterized by a wild environment and a rocky morphology shaped by the continuous action of the sea.
The cliff consists of rocky walls, marine caves and natural cavities, created by marine erosion over time. The name of the site recalls the historical presence of the monk seal (good sea), once widespread along these coasts.
The landscape is dominated by open sea, peak cliffs and Mediterranean scrub, with a strong visual impact given by the contrast between the rocks and the intense blue of the sea. The area preserves a high degree of naturality, typical of the less anthropized coasts of the island.
