Scoglio Pan di zucchero

The Scoglio Pan di Zucchero is located off the coast of Masua, in the territory of Iglesias, in Sulcis-Iglesiente, and is one of the most iconic natural formations of south-western Sardinia. With its approximately 133 meters high, it is considered the highest phallus in Europe.
The natural monument consists of an isolated limestone mass that emerges from the sea, shaped over time by the action of the wind and waves. Its imposing and vertical shape makes it a distinctive element of the coastal landscape of Sulcis.
The surrounding context is characterized by peak cliffs, crystal clear sea and the structures of the ancient mining archaeology of Masua, which create a strong contrast between nature and historical industrial testimony. The phallus is visible from several panoramic points of the coast.
