Tomba dei Giganti di Su Estrai

The Tomb of the Giants of Su Estrai is a funerary monument of the nuragic civilization, dating back to the Bronze Age, located in the territory of Sulcis-Iglesiente. The site represents a significant testimony of the collective burials and ritual practices of the ancient Sardinian communities.
The structure preserves the typical characteristics of this type of architecture, with an elongated funerary corridor intended for depositions and a semicircular front exedra, used for collective ceremonies. Originally the complex was covered by a mound of land and stone, today no longer visible.
Built with megalithic blocks, the tomb highlights the constructive capacities of the nuragic populations and their relationship with the territory. The site is part of a natural and archaeological context, contributing to the historical heritage of Sulcis.
