Tomba dei Giganti di Su Niu e Su Crobu

The Tomb of the Giants of Su Niu and Su Crobu (Sant’Antioco) is one of the most important funeral complexes of the nuragic civilization in the territory of Sulcis, dating back to the Bronze Age. The site represents a significant testimony of the collective funeral practices and the religious system of the ancient Sardinian populations.
The monument stands out for the typical megalithic structure composed of a covered funerary corridor and a semicircular front exedra, used for community rituals. The construction is made with large stone blocks arranged with accurate technique, demonstrating the advanced building capacities of the nuragic communities.
Particularity of the site is the presence of two separate but close tombs, an element that strengthens the importance of the area as a place of worship and collective burial. Originally, the structures were covered by tumuli of land and stone, now no longer preserved.
