Tomba dei giganti Monte Prano III

The Tomb of the Giants of Monte Pranu III (Villaperuccio) is a funerary monument of the nuragic civilization, dating back to the Bronze Age, located in the area of Monte Pranu in the territory of Sulcis. The site is further evidence of the spread of megalithic collective burials in the ancient Sardinian communities.
The structure follows the typical model of the Tombs of the Giants, with a straight funerary corridor made of stone blocks and a semicircular frontal esedra, used as a ritual space for ceremonies related to the worship of the dead. Originally the whole complex was covered by a mound of land and stone, now no longer preserved.
The site is part of an area of great archaeological concentration, characterized by the presence of several close nuragic tombs, an element that highlights the importance of Mount Pranu as a funerary and symbolic space for the prehistoric communities of the territory.
