Tomba di Giganti MuroMoi

The Tomb of the Giants of Muro Moi (Gonnesa) is a funerary monument belonging to the nuragic civilization, dating back to the Bronze Age, located in the territory of Sulcis-Iglesiente. The site represents a testimony of the collective burials and ritual practices of the ancient Sardinian communities.
The structure has the typical characteristics of the Tombs of the Giants, with an elongated funerary corridor intended for depositions and a semicircular frontal exedra, used for community ceremonies. The whole complex was originally covered by a tumulus of land and stone, today no longer visible.
Built with megalithic blocks, the tomb highlights the constructive skills of the nuragic populations and their relationship with the territory. The site of Muro Moi is part of a landscape of archaeological interest, contributing to the historical richness of the Gonnesa area.
