Torre di Porto Scudo

The Torre di Porto Scudo is located along the coast of Teulada, in Sulcis-Iglesiente, in one of the most isolated and intact coastal areas of the south-west of Sardinia. It is a historical coastal tower built with sighting and defense function, part of the Sardinian coast control system.
The structure, made of local stone, stands in a dominant position on a stretch of coast characterized by cliffs, rocky coves and open sea, guaranteeing a wide strategic view. Its location allowed the monitoring of maritime traffic and the signalling of possible dangers along the coast.
The natural environment is particularly suggestive, with a landscape dominated by Mediterranean vegetation, rocky promontory and clear waters, which help maintain high environmental integrity.
